Fandango’s Top Actresses for 2007
8 January, 2007

Scarlett Johansson may enjoy a good year at the movies, according to a recent survey by Fandango, the nation’s largest online, phone and mobile movie ticketing destination.

To compile the “Fandango Fifty”, the entertainment site asked filmgoers to rank the stars they are most looking forward to seeing on the big screen in 2007. The online survey was posted at Fandango during the last week of December 2006, when several thousand moviegoers voted for the actors most likely to draw them to the theater.

Leading the pack as the most anticipated female performer is Reese Witherspoon, slated to appear in the 2007 political thriller Rendition (#1), followed by Sandra Bullock (#2), Julia Roberts (#3), Keira Knightley (#4), and Drew Barrymore at #5. Scarlett Johansson was voted as number 12 with The Nanny Diaries and The Other Boleyn Girl.

“The Fandango Fifty shows the importance of star power at the box office, and reflects moviegoer excitement about the real variety at theaters this year,” says Fandango Film Commentator Richard Horgan.

Regarding the Diva Gossip
8 January, 2007

Scarlett Johansson has rubbished reports she acted like a diva on the set of Justin Timberlake’s new music video. She recently teamed up with Timberlake for his new music video What Goes Around… Comes Around but the event has been dogged by speculation the actress behaved like a diva throughout. Johansson was said to have thrown a strop when she wasn’t allowed to smoke on set, and allegedly said, “How come we have fire dancers, but I can’t smoke?” Eating in front of her was also reportedly banned, with her bodyguard telling crew members to go somewhere else if they were going to eat.

However, Johansson’s publicist Marcel Pariseau has blasted the claims, reports the New York Daily News. He says, “Scarlett is always respectful of other people and never made this statement. Also, Scarlett doesn’t have a bodyguard.”
