According to Variety, The Nanny Diaries has been pushed back from its April release to September 7. It will see its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in Italy, like many of Scarlett’s previous films.

Harvey and Bob Weinstein are moving their chick lit adaptation The Nanny Diaries to Sept. 7 from its planned opening next month.

Pic will have its world preem at the Venice film fest.

Pic was helmed by American Splendor directing duo Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman.

Harvey Weinstein said he’s moving the film to put it in awards contention, and its homevid release will coincide with the Golden Globes.

Weinstein added that he didn’t want the pic to get lost in a summer glut of sequels in various franchises.

Diaries stars Scarlett Johansson in a role Weinstein said the company will likely be pushing for kudos consideration.

yeah that sucks, but if the movie, or one of the performances in it, is worthy of awards consideration then moving it to sep. will be good for scarlett’s career. if the movie sucks then maybe they can re-edit or do some reshoots and hopfully make a diamond out of the coal.

Yeah, that sucks. I’ve been looking forward to the movie with Scarlett and Alicia Keys, two very beautiful and talented women. This web site is amazing for it’s quick and current updates. Keep up the good work!!

This sucks! I was excited for Scar promotion to begin, but figures…however I can’t wait to see Scar at Venice! She always looks incredible at film festivals!

How dare anyone push back her movie and was supposed to be out this month. That is not nice to the people who gave their all for the movie. I have been wating a long time for this movie. I think that someone should take Scarlett out for pizza since she has to wait untill Sept 7th. What the hell is wrong. Whet it comes to Scarlett nothing like this should happen. People should keep their word. I bet she is angry about this. Just like me.
