BBC News has published another article with further details regarding the Boleyn Girl re-shoots at Ely Cathedral in England.

Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman are among the Hollywood stars who are to film at Ely Cathedral.

The landmark called The Ship of the Fens is to be used as a location for the film The Other Boleyn Girl.

The film, based on the novel by Philippa Gregory, also stars actors Kirstin Scott Thomas and Eric Bana.

Filming will take place on 28, 29 and 30 August. Both the cathedral and the Stained Glass Museum will be closed during these three days.

The Other Boleyn Girl, a BBC Films Production, is about the power struggles, rivalries and strained loyalty between Anne and Mary Boleyn.

The film has been developed for the big screen by BBC Films after the success of the TV film of the same name, which was shown in 2003.

Johansson plays Mary opposite Portman as Anne, and Eric Bana stars as Henry VIII.

In the film Mary and her younger sister Anne compete for the affections of Henry VIII.

Sallyann Ford, events and visitors manager for the cathedral, said: “Hollywood heading to Ely is great news for the city. It is a very exciting project.

“The film was completed at Dover castle and other locations in Kent but the directors felt some of the scenes needed bulking out so they are coming to Ely Cathedral to add a final gloss to the film.

“All of the Hollywood actors starring in the film will be here so it will bring a lot of life and revenue to a small city.
