I came across three unseen stills of Scarlett Johansson looking lovely as Annie Braddock in The Nanny Diaries.

Also, Roxana of Alicia-Keys.net has made Scarlett-Fan.com their Site of the Moment. Big thanks to her! Be sure to check out this ultimate source on Scarlett’s TND co-star.

I’ve added a wonderful new Scarlett article from USA Today. Be sure to read the full feature here. Here are some highlights that I’ve picked:

- Scarlett says her album will be released in October
- She says she feels a bit guilty about her upcoming album because it just fell in her lap. Warner Bros. reps heard her sing on Unexpected Dreams and offered her a contract
- She plans to go to Iraq this year with the USO to visit U.S. servicemen: “I get letters from guys my age and younger. I wanted to go in October, but it may be a little later”
- Natalie Portman on Scarlett: “She’s a spicy girl. She’s got wonderful energy. She’s very, very smart. She always says what she feels but always tactfully”
- She reads a lot of biographies of Old Hollywood talents and feels a lot of times like she was born in the wrong era
- She believes in rewarding herself after working hard and may take a road trip in the US after the filming wraps in Spain
- She is interested in going to Africa to do charity work

“I know how lucky I am,” she says. “I have friends. I’m doing what I want to do. I can travel. I also have an opportunity to make some sort of difference.”

Frank Miller continues to lure femmes fatales for Will Eisner’s The Spirit, lining up Eva Mendes for the key role of Sand Saref, a beauty with dangerous curves. Miller, the comic auteur making his feature-length directorial debut on the film, has welcomed acclaimed cinematographer Bill Pope to make sure the curves are in fine focus.

Mendes joins Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Gabriel Macht in the fantasy thriller about a rookie cop (Macht) who returns from the dead to fight crime as the Spirit from the shadows of Central City.

Sand Saref is described as the only woman who could break the Spirit’s heart. As teenage lovers, the two were torn apart when Sand’s father was accidentally killed by the Spirit’s uncle.

Production will begin in October in New Mexico and will be shot entirely at Albuquerque Studios.

A new The Other Boleyn Girl still was published in the latest issue of Elle magazine. I’ve added it to our gallery. Credit for the pic goes out to NataliePortman.com. Thanks to Titooy, I’ve replaced the rare My Brother the Pig stills with HQs. I’ve also added an old photoshoot in the gallery, outtakes from Teen People (1998), which see Scarlett with Jessica Biel and Kirsten Dunst. Be sure to log in to view this set.

Last but not least, the press archive has finally been updated with new items, including new The Nanny Diaries related articles. More interviews and articles will be added soon!

“For Annie, New York is just a hop across the Hudson River; it’s not like she’s from a small farming community in the Midwest, wide-eyed at these stunning material things,” says Johansson. “She reads fashion magazines, and is aware of this world. I didn’t want it to seem like she’s coming from complete innocence, didn’t want her to seem dewy-eyed. She’s sort of amused by all this extravagance, and sort of loves living, briefly, in this lap of luxury.

“But there’s another aspect, which is the women Annie meets who are also caretakers,” she adds, “who are really touching characters and who show a different side to this life. And in showing all these sides, the movie is a real love letter to New York. I hope that comes across.

Scarlett Johansson has lined up a series of roles that will see her moving quickly from modern relationships to comic strip noir to costume drama.

Johansson has joined the all-star cast of the ensemble comedy Into You, which she will shoot first, before then materializing as a femme fatale in Will Eisner’s The Spirit, being filmed by Sin City writer/director Frank Miller.

In the winter, she will don a crown for Mary Queen of Scots, a long-gestating project to which she’s has been attached to some time.

In He’s Just Not That Into You, Johansson will play a pilates instructor/aspiring singer who has an affair with a married man and hopes that he will leave his wife for her.

She joins Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Connelly, Bradley Cooper, Kevin Connolly, Justin Long, Ginnifer Goodwin and Drew Barrymore in the movie of interconnecting story arcs dealing with the challenges of reading or misreading human behavior.

Ken Kwapis (License to Wed) is directing the New Line movie.

For The Spirit, Miller’s adaptation of the classic Eisner film noir comic strip series, Johansson is in final negotiations to play a dangerous beauty named Silk N. Floss. Eisner’s strip was known for its women with dangerous curves, and Miller is intent on keeping that tradition. Floss is a sexy and intelligent secretary with a vindictive instinct, making her the perfect accomplice to the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson), an evil mastermind.
