12 September, 2007

Scarlett Johansson, George Clooney and Matt Damon have been enlisted by hip-hop duo Mattafix – Marlon Roudette and Preetesh Hirji – to take part in a charity single project timed to coincide with the Global Day for Darfur on Sunday.

The celebrities have given a series of personal introductions to the band’s video, which was filmed in a refugee camp in Chad, near the border with Darfur.

Others involved include Turner prize winning artist Chris Ofili, who produced artwork for the single, and Mick Jagger who provided financial support for the video.

The single Living Darfur is available to download on Monday.

HJNTIY – Day One
11 September, 2007

From one movie to another – our favorite workaholic was photographed on the set of her new movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, yesterday in Los Angeles. This is actually the very first day of filming of the project. Co-star and producer Drew Barrymore was also photographed on the set and you can view photos of her over at Drew Fan. I think that Scarlett looks incredibly cute with the sunnies and the ‘sunbrella’.

A Huge Media Update
9 September, 2007

I am back from my trip to Venice. As you probably heard, Scarlett Johansson did not attend the film festival. Only the directors were present to promote The Nanny Diaries. She did, however, appear on Conan O’Brien and GMA after filming additional scenes for The Other Boleyn Girl in England. I have added a lot related photos and videos for you to enjoy! Thanks to Mycah, Aloxite and everyone else for the help and contributions!

Scarlett also recently filmed a promotional clip for WYOU, Madison’s non-profit community access television station. I’ve also added its caps and the video.

Samuel Bayer for Brilliant/Brilliance?
5 September, 2007

Scarlett Johansson really made an impression on music video director Samuel Bayer during the making of Justin Timberlake’s “What Goes Around…Comes Around” mini-movie — so much so that the two will team up again later this year.

“Scarlett is one of the sexiest actresses around,” Bayer told MTV News. “And she can just become her characters. Look at what she did during the Corvette scene, which a lot of people won’t catch. She was shooting that on a green screen, and right before we were rolling, she was laughing. We start, and she’s crying. It was just unbelievable. It’s stuff like that which makes you know someone’s a star.”

So it was a no-brainer for Bayer that when Johansson mentioned her next project was hunting for a director, and she’d like to work with him again, to come aboard. “It’s called Brilliance and it’s about diamond thieves, and we start shooting this winter,” Bayer said. “So many things came together in all the right ways. It really was a case of ‘what goes around, comes around.’ In a good way.”

Scarlett Johansson ‘Not My Muse’
3 September, 2007

Rising star Scarlett Johansson has worked with Woody Allen on three movies now, but “she’s not my muse,” the veteran director said Sunday.

“Scarlett is a wonderful actress, she reverberates off anyone she plays with, and she has a great future ahead of her,” Allen told a news conference. “But I never think of her as my muse.”

Asked to compare Johansson with longtime film partner Diane Keaton, Allen said: “There’s a very strong chemistry between Diane and myself,” noting that they acted in “eight or nine” films together.

Allen and Johansson acted together in Scoop (2006), and she appears in his 2005 film Match Point.

A drama set in Barcelona starring Johansson was finished “five days ago,” and does not have a title yet, Allen said.
