Q: The Other Boleyn Girl is a period drama in which you play Ann to Scarlett Johansson’s Mary Boleyn, sisters who compete to win the heart of Henry VIII. It was set for a holiday release to make it Oscar-eligible. What happened?

A: The script (by Peter Morgan, writer of The Queen) was so good everyone involved wanted to make sure we got it right, that it wasn’t confusing. I’d rather make a really good film than release one just to be in contention for awards.
