After making several movies abroad — Match Point, Scoop, the upcoming Cassandra’s Dream, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona — Allen is returning to Manhattan.

Woody tells me he will shoot a romantic comedy in Manhattan beginning in April. Details are a secret, still, and there’s no cast yet. But for Allen this film should be a return to the form for which he is loved and revered.

First, though, Cassandra’s Dream will be released in January. Then his Vicky Cristina Barcelona, shot in Spain last summer with Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem and Scarlett Johansson, will get a premiere either in Cannes or Venice.

Woody did tell me the new movie will feature more “mature”-aged characters, and that unlike those last four films there is no part for his recent favorite leading lady, Johansson.

Things have been rather quiet in the Scarlett fandom for the past few weeks. I did, however, manage to find something new and exciting to post: scans from the Belgium edition of Elle magazine, which features two previously unseen pics, both totally stunning! Thanks so much to “mr Johansson” for taking the time to scan these for us.

Dolly Parton, the well-endowed country singing legend, has made it clear she wants Scarlett Johansson to play her in a movie biopic of her life.

The “9 to 5″ singer has also reportedly been in talks with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes about producing the movie.

A source said: “Dolly is a huge fan of Scarlett and thinks she would be perfect for the role. She has approached Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to see if they will produce the film. She’s really excited about the project, and is determined to have the very best people in town working on it.”

I’ve finished capping Scarlett’s role as Annie in The Nanny Diaries. No, the film is not a masterpiece but I personally think Scarlett did a decent job and she looks gorgeous in each scene. I love Annie’s outfits and the dark hair - super pretty! Scarlett is pretty much in every frame of the film so I went a little cap crazy and added 2,000+ HQ caps. If you haven’t seen the film, remember that the captures may contain some spoilers. I hope you enjoy!

Sandra of Portman Source informed me of a site that appears to be an international official site for The Other Boleyn Girl. Not much there yet, except for the international trailer that premiered online a week back. Nevertheless, be sure to bookmark TheOtherBoleynGirlMovie.net.

Roberto sent in a link to Hollywood.com, which confirms that Scarlett’s character in He’s Just Not That Into You is named Anna and the film will be released August 1, 2008.

For those who are interested in the “sexiest women” type of polls, Andre Poupada reported to us that Scarlett has been nominated for AskMen.com’s Top 99 Most Desirable Women of 2008. You can vote for her here. Scroll through the galleries and rank each of the nominees on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the most desirable). Feel free to vote as many times as you like, the final results will be revealed on January 31, 2008. As you may remember, Scarlett ranked #2 in the 2007 vote.

Scarlett also ranked #8 on EmpireOnline.com’s “Sexiest Movie Star Ever”. Visitors of the site were earlier in the year asked to pick the sexiest movie star ever, with their choice of screen star being unrestricted by age, gender or silver screen era, and over 20,000 votes were reportedly cast.
