Penelope Cruz commented about the sex scene between her and Scarlett’s characters in Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She told a Spanish newspaper that the reportages have been exaggerated – as usual. Thanks to rope for sharing this and ScarlettSkies for the translation:
Question: And moreover, it looks like everyone is looking forward to your scene with Scarlett Johansson…
- (smiles) Well, I suppose you’re gonna ask me about everything that was published in newspapers regarding my character and Scarlett’s character, the way they talk about it, they’ve made it sound like a porn. Unfortunately -and I’m saying unfortunately for those who wrote it that way- Scarlett and I only share a sort of romantic scene… and well, I don’t want to reveal things about the film but let’s say that they made it sound much different from what it really is.

That’s exactly what I had been guessing – of course they’d blow it out of proportion, take it out of context and exaggerate it. Why not wait till we get to see the film and see what the scene is all about?
