Woody Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona will open the Zabaltegi Pearls section of September’s San Sebastian Festival with Allen in attendance, the film’s Spanish producer Mediapro announced Thursday. Cast members Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Scarlett Johansson and Rebecca Hall will also be at the fest. The Pearls strand is dedicated to recent fest faves.

Shot in Spain — in Barcelona and Asturias — Vicky world preemed to upbeat reviews at Cannes. Its Spanish preem looks set to become one of the highlights of this year’s fest.

I apologize for the massive lack in updates. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m spending the summer in another country so was without stable internet for a whole month - until now. I have also been very busy with work. I will, however, attempt to start catching up soon. I have so many things to add and many things that I’d like to upgrade and work on during the summer months before I go back to university.

Today I bring you a little update that consists of a couple of new outtakes from the Berlin Film Festival photoshoot taken earlier this year. Enjoy the pretty!

One of next year’s films that has been a little under the fanboy radar is the upcoming adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s classic manga, Astro Boy about a young super-powered robot.

No word yet on her role, but Scarlett will join some sizeable voice talent alongside Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, Bill Nighy, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy and Freddie Highmore (as Astro Boy himself).

Everything I’ve seen in regards to the production looks they’re getting it perfect and it sounds like well-deserved promotion for the film is about to start up in a big way.

Case in point, if you’re in LA next weekend, July 3 -5, be sure to check out Anime Expo 2008 at the downtown Convention Center. Both Imagi Studios and Summit Entertainment will be there to promote the film (at booths 913 and 915) and the film’s director, David Bowers, will be around the convention as well.

According to Life & Style, He’s Just Not That Into You has unfortunately been pushed back to February 6, 2009.

This is - hopefully - the last time that I post about this matter. It truly is insane how it has been blown out of proportion!

As he headed to a Hollywood fundraiser, Sen. Barack Obama downplayed the idea that he hobnobs with actress Scarlett Johansson.

The movie star, who campaigns actively for the Illinois senator, recently told the website Politico, “You’d imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly ‘on’ - how can he return these personal emails? But he does, and in his off-time I know he also calls people who have donated the minimum to thank them.”

She said Obama had responded to one note about a debate, commenting to her that the questions were “silly.”

But speaking to reporters aboard his campaign plane, Obama said the actress doesn’t have his personal email address. “She sent one email to Reggie, who forwarded it to me,” Obama said, referring to his 26-year-old personal assistant, Reggie Love. “I write saying, ‘thank you Scarlett for doing what you do,’ and suddenly we have this email relationship”

Playing Mary Boleyn in The Other Boleyn Girl has made Scarlett Johansson become one of nominees at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards. She’ll compete to be the winner of “Choice Movie Actress: Drama”. The awards will be airing on FOX from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Monday, August 4. Miley Cyrus is set to host the ceremony. Vote for Scarlett here (ages 13-19).
