The Danish-American Chamber of Commerce Georgia has honored Scarlett Johansson with its Danish-American actress of the year award.
The 27-year-old New York native, who has appeared in “Lost in Translation”, “We Bought a Zoo” and “The Nanny Diaries”, among many other films, is the daughter of an American mother and a Danish-born father.
The honor is part of a chamber effort to reach out to prominent Americans of Danish ancestry, Macon attorney Christopher Smith, Denmark’s Honorary Consul for Georgia, said in a news release.
The chamber selected Ms. Johansson for her success as a singer, actress and model, as well as her work as a philanthropist, said chamber President Michael Jensen.
“I’m very pleased to receive the Danish-American actress of the year award,” Ms. Johansson said in a statement. “I’m proud of my Danish heritage and thank the DACC for their support.”
Ms. Johansson’s next film is “The Avengers”, which is scheduled to hit theaters in May.
