She says her actions got lost in translation. Actress Scarlett Johansson was spotted holding hands with ex-squeeze Jared Leto at the Democratic National Convention Thursday – even resting her head on his arm at one point – but insists the political pairing was completely platonic.
“Scarlett and Jared have remained friends, nothing more, nothing less,” her rep told the Daily News Friday. “This is very innocent. Scarlett wasn’t even aware that Jared was going to be at the DNC.”

The rep said the “Avengers” star is still dating New York advertising guru Nate Naylor, her boyfriend of about a year. Johansson, 27, dated Leto back in 2004 before her two-year marriage to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds. Leto, 40, is known for his role in “Requiem for a Dream,” his band 30 Seconds to Mars and his long list of Hollywood hookups, which includes Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz and Ashley Olsen. Sitting amid a sea of stars including Don Cheadle, Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks, Johansson beamed Thursday night as Leto whispered in her ear and snapped photos with a cell phone.
