Scarlett Johansson was turned out in her full Black Widow costume and drove around in a sports car. If you weren’t able to get down to the Mall to see “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as it filmed near the Air & Space Museum and the Capitol on Tuesday, all the local TV news teams went down to check it out and capture the mechanisms of Hollywood filmmaking in all its riveting/tedious glory. Plus — look, it’s Anthony Mackie! Production will continue at scattered sites around D.C. through Thursday.

Scarlett Johansson has signed up for a supporting role in Jon Favreau’s Chef, Aldamisa, which is repping the film as Cannes, announced Wednesday.

The film, written, directed and starring Favreau, will also star Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale. Scarlett is a tremendous talent and I’m honored to be collaborating with her again. I’m so fortunate to be working with such a fine ensemble,” said Favreau in a statement. Favreau directed Iron Man 2, which starred Johansson as Natasha Romanoff. Chef will also reunite Johansson and Favreau with Iron Man star Downey, who also starred in Avengers with Johansson.

The film, based on Favreau’s original idea, follows a man, Carl Casper (Favreau), who loses his chef job and cooks up a food truck business in hopes of reestablishing his artistic promise. At the same time, he tries to reconnect with his estranged family.
Johansson will play a woman named Molly, a restaurant manager and love interest of Favreau’s character.
Karen Gilchrist and Aldamisa Co-Chairman Sergei Bespalov are producing. Aldamisa is financing along with Kilburn Media and Mark Manuel. Production begins on July 8 in Los Angeles.
CAA packaged the deal and will handle U.S. distribution rights. Jere Hausfater and Philip Elway negotiated the deal on behalf of Aldamisa.

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she likes to take a break from her intense working schedule and enjoys exploring different cities when she is shooting. The Iron Man 2 star said that sometimes working for as much as 16 hours a day becomes quite intense and so, in her free time shelikes to work out, go to galleries and enjoy in whatever city she is in, Contactmusic reported.

The 28-year-old actress isn’t above spending all day in bed, although she claimed that she just loves relaxing around the house or walking in the park.

Scarlett Johansson fans take note, the actress will continue to kick ass. After establishing herself as an action hero in Iron Man 2, The Avengers and the currently shooting Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she will go on the run in Luc Besson’s Lucy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Written and directed by Besson (The Fifth Element), the Universal Pictures release finds Johansson playing a drug mule whose cargo winds up getting into her system, essentially granting her superpowers. “She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can’t feel pain and other discomforts,” THR explains.

The film marks a return to form for Besson, who wrote and directed strong female leads in La Femme Nikita, Angel-A, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc and The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec. Besson’s next release will be Malavita, a mob thriller starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones.
