Hasty Pudding Women of the Year
15 February, 2007

In Harvard Yard just before noon today (Feb. 15), there was ice, slush, wind, a 2-degree wind chill – and there was Scarlett Johansson.

The 22-year-old actress, at Harvard to be feted as Hasty Pudding’s Woman of the Year, set off on a 15-minute tour ready for the cameras, though not for the weather. She was hatless, all the better to show her bundled high vivid blond hair and sparkling small earrings. With gloveless hands tucked into her sleeves, Johansson defied winter in a waist-length black jacket, pipe stem black slacks, and narrow black shiny flats.

Leading the tour was Hasty Pudding player J. Patrick Coyne ’07, a Quincy House history and literature concentrator from Cleveland. Outside Harvard Hall, near Johnston Gate, Johansson had two questions for him first: “Why wasn’t my application accepted? Where can I apply to a graduate program?”

Passing Hollis Hall, the husky-voiced actress confessed, “I have a feeling my SAT scores wouldn’t cut it,” – but that her mother was still telling her it was not too late for a college degree. (“Thanks, Mom,” she said.)

49th Annual GRAMMY Awards
12 February, 2007

Wow, wow, wow! Scarlett has made her first high profile appearance since The Prestige London Premiere in November 2006 at the 49th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which are happening as we speak! She is looking like a total sex kitten in a black Monique Lhuillier number. What a classy lady! I will add a few pictures before heading to bed. More coming up tomorrow.

When asked on the red carpet about her “romance” with Justin Timberlake, Scarlett responded: “We have a lot of friends in common, and Justin’s a sweetheart, and it’s always good to see him. But there’s a lot of speculation and I try not to read that stuff. I think when two people are single and are seen together, it’s immediately like a crazy feeding frenzy.”

If anyone was able to record her red carpet interview, please send it in!

Pudding Awards for Johansson & Stiller
30 January, 2007

Ben Stiller and Scarlett Johansson are this year’s recipients of the annual Hasty Pudding awards, given by a student drama group at Harvard University.

The awards, announced Monday, are given to performers who have made a “lasting and impressive contribution to the world of entertainment” by Hasty Pudding Theatricals, the nation’s oldest undergraduate drama troupe.

Johansson, 22, will lead a parade through Cambridge on Feb. 15, then attend a roast in her honor and receive the “Pudding Pot.” The ceremony for Stiller, 41, is Feb. 23.

Last year’s honorees were Halle Berry and Richard Gere.

Regarding the GG Announcements
13 December, 2006

I have some disappointing news to bring. The Golden Globes website states that Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Philip Berk, Jessica Biel, Rosario Dawson and Matthew Perry will be announcing the Golden Globes tomorrow – with no mention of Scarlett Johansson whatsoever. Perhaps she had to return to England for Boleyn Girl?

Still, keep your fingers crossed for a Best Actress nomination for Scoop!

Miss Johansson attended ‘Les Perles de Chanel’ private dinner yesterday in New York City. She looked very classy in a black number, spicing it up with the red tint and bright lipstick. Five pictures have been added to Scarlett-Photos.com – just make sure that you’re registered and logged in before trying to view these.

Just a reminder – the Golden Globe nominations will be announced tomorrow by Scarlett, Philip Berk, Jessica Biel and Matthew Perry. E! will air the announcement show live at 8:30am (EST) tomorrow.

The Black Dahlia to Open Venice
24 July, 2006

According to their website, The Black Dahlia will see its world premiere and open the 63rd Venice Film Festival on 30th August 2006. It will also be presented in competition. The all star cast, including Scarlett Johansson, have been confirmed to step on the red carpet in Venice’s (Italy) Lido island.

“We are honoured”, declared President Davide Croff and Director Marco Muller, “That Brian De Palma has chosen to inaugurate the 63rd Venice Film Festival with his new and long-awaited thriller, thus confirming his strong links with Venice. We are also happy that the Festival, thanks to this film, will once again be able to welcome two great stars from today’s film industry, both of whom first made a name for themselves in Venice: Scarlett Johansson, with Lost in Translation, and a jury member in 2004, and Hilary Swank, who was in Venice in 1999 with the film that won her her first Oscar, Boy’s Don’t Cry.”
