‘The Avengers’ cast cover Entertainment Weekly!
29 September, 2011

The whole enterprise is falling apart. Egos, tempers, uneasy alliances and bad attitudes are threatening the group, and failure would be catastrophic. Luckily, we’re talking about the actual team of superheroes in the Marvel Studios movie The Avengers, not the cast and crew. In this week’s issue, EW takes a deep dive into the May 4, 2012 movie that will finally unite Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and Chris Evans’ Captain America — along with Mark Ruffalo’s The Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow — on the big screen. We use the word “unite” loosely. “Just because they’re super heroes doesn’t mean they’re super friends,” says Renner.

It was a different story with the cast and crew: If anything, they got along too well. Far from home on the Albuquerque set, they had little to do except hang out together, maybe hit a Motley Cruë concert, or go dancing with writer-director Joss Whedon, who says he knew “every dance club in Albuquerque.” Whedon was actually counting on a little bit of friction, since there’s so much in the actual story. “I was like, well, if they hate each other, I guess we can use that,” he shrugs. “But they don’t.”

When he wasn’t out dancing, Whedon was obsessively rewriting dialogue. On the Iron Man movies, Downey was notorious for pushing for heat-of-the-moment script punch-ups (or as he puts it: “I dominated like a rabid, horny gorilla”). And even as part of an ensemble in Avengers, he still nudged Whedon to go a little farther in some scenes. The day EW was on set, Whedon (the creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the acclaimed Astonishing X-Men comic book series) was scribbling out new pages of dialogue right before our eyes. Says the director, “There is a weird element of: they handed me one of the biggest movies of all time, and I’m making it up as I go.”

GQ’s Babe of the year
15 November, 2010

The Megans and Milas and Blakes may come and go with the usual ebb and flow of the multiplex, but our (somewhat unhealthy) fascination with one woman endures.

“At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color. This is what we love about Scarlett: that she’s game, that she’s good, that she can try on all these guises without seeming to try too hard. And all the while still seem genuinely like the observant, inquisitive (and very cute) girl in transition we fell for in Lost in Translation.”

Read the entire story in the 15th Annual GQ Men of the Year Issue, on newsstands November 23.

V Magazine
8 May, 2010

“Working with these incredible hair and makeup teams, you go in looking like a schmoe, and you come out like a movie star, you go through the works, and then you’re like this perfectly prepared sausage…no one ever sees what goes in.”

“I’m 25, and for some time I’ve played these characters who are kind of figuring it out, transforming from young girls to young women. I don’t feel like a girl anymore. And I feel like my life and career are on a different path than they had been.”

Scarlett’s on the cover of V Magazine‘s summer issue and oh my good what an amazing cover! (click to view it on the gallery). She’s wearing Yves Saint Laurent and it’s photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. As usual, if anyone could provide us scans, please leave your email in a comment and I will contact you.

Scarlett covers InStyle May issue!
22 April, 2010

“You’re not going to find me at 4 a.m. hitting up the club, bottle full of bub…Maybe on a rare occasion. But I’ve just never been much of a clubby, nightlife kind of person…I’m not a social butterfly. I’ve never been part of a scandal that was really juicy.”

Our girl graces this month’s InStyle Magazine cover to promote Iron Man 2! She looks super sweet, though some of us are not really feeling her curly hairdo, but she’s gorgeous anyway, and so fresh! Here you’ve got a sneak of the cover, if anyone can provide HQ scans please leave a comment and I will be contacting you!
