UK Cosmopolitan Magazine released the following statement to Hollyscoop.com:

“UK Cosmopolitan printed an interview with Scarlett Johansson that included quotes from an agency journalist regarding the actress’s marriage. We ran these quotes in good faith with the understanding that the interview was carried out with the approval of Ms. Johansson and her publicist. UK Cosmopolitan is taking the complaints by Ms. Johansson’s publicist seriously and is investigating the matter further.”

Soon after, Cosmopolitan released this apology on their official site.

“Cosmopolitan would like to apologize to our readers and Scarlett Johansson for inaccuracies in our January issue where we said she talked about her marriage and her relationship with her husband. We now understand Ms Johansson has not commented publicly on her married life and did not do so on this occasion.”

Scarlett is on or in a couple of international magazines right now. I have added some preview scans of the covers to the gallery. If you have any of these or can get them and wouldn’t mind donating, please don’t hesitate! While no the covers aren’t ‘new’ they are still stunning and always nice to have the full pieces of Scarlett’s editorials. And a good bit of the time the articles are new and if not it’s always nice for those non-english speaking fans to have to read.

A rep for Scarlett Johansson has lashed out at Cosmopolitan’s U.K. edition, calling its January cover story on the star an “obvious attempt…to gain monetarily by misinforming their readers.”

Not only were marriage-related quotations attributed to the newlywed actress “wholly fabricated,” but Johansson “has at no point granted U.K. Cosmopolitan an interview, and she has never discussed her personal relationships with the publication,” her rep said in a statement obtained Saturday by E! News.

Further hammering home the point, Johansson’s rep cited what the 24-year-old said in the U.S. version of Cosmo’s August issue, long before she and Reynolds swapped vows in September: “I hate feeling like I have to share my personal life with anybody. So I’ll take the normal celebrity route and just say I’m going to keep my personal life private.”

On January 27, 2009, the Weinstein Company and Genius Products will release Vicky Cristina Barcelona on DVD and Blu-ray. The Woody Allen film revolves around two American women on a carefree Spanish holiday who meet a charming local painter and become enamored by him, only to have his intensely passionate ex-wife reenter his life and stir up trouble. It will contain bonus materials and extra features, though none have currently been announced, and the DVD will be available for the MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price) of $28.95, while the Blu-ray will be available for the MSRP of $34.99.

Scarlett along with Eva Mendes and Samuel L. Jackson were interviewed on Le Grand Journal, a popular live show on French TV. It was after the Paris premiere yesterday as Scarlett was in the same outfit. The show is translated into French but you can here their English answers too.

Mega promotion is really getting started for The Spirit due out December 25, 2008. First off, we have a new Christmas themed trailer. Next up, Miss Silken Floss graces the cover of Wizard #206 (December). It’s a gorgeous new promo image. Lastly, MTV debuted a new show called Spoilers tonight which had a featurette about the film’s women. If you’re a US resident, you can watch the entire first episode via this link. You may also watch a longer cut of the featurette which features more of the Spirit’s ladies after the cut. There was a lot of new Scarlett scenes and even an interview. I will make caps of this tomorrow.
