I have a lot of goodies to bring you again today. First of all, Scarlett is in two new commercials for Japan’s Mt. Rainier. It appears that the other commercial is the one we see her shoot in the Falling Down music video (lookie). She sure looks pretty but I find it so hilarious that she’s doing these commercials. Lost in Translation, much? Anyway, I’ve added the two new commercials in the video archive and made caps of them. Massive thanks to Sayuri for these!

I have also added stills of the Pepsi Smash On Location and MySpace Artist on Artist sessions (caps of both coming asap) and some preview scans of Scarlett’s new Nylon cover. Credit goes out to the original scanner for these. I will replace these with original HQ scans once the issue is available to my regular scanning helpers.

In case you have not noticed, I’ve added some really cool stuff in the gallery in the past few days but I had not had the chance to update the front page about them until now. There has not been any new pictures from the set of Woody Allen Spanish Project this week as they have been filming indoors. I did, however, manage to upload a couple of more of Scarlett and Woody on day five.

For her sequel as the face of another Louis Vuitton campaign [third time, actually], Scarlett Johansson played a role with which she’s extremely familiar: movie star. Evoking at turns Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly, Johansson displays voluptuous glamour in the color-drenched fall spots, slated to break in August fashion magazines.

“In this one, she’s much more recognizable,” said Antoine Arnault, Vuitton’s communications director, who allowed that the actress is not always immediately identifiable in the current spring ads in her role as the French-coquette-on-a-swing.

Nevertheless, Arnault dubbed the current campaign a success. He noted that Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs “adores” Johansson and based his fall-winter collection for the house around her character in Girl With a Pearl Earring, the 2003 feature film about a peasant girl who becomes the model for 17th-century Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer’s most famous work.

The fall campaign, lensed by Vuitton regulars Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, plays up the painterly colors of the ready-to-wear. “It’s probably one of the most beautiful campaigns Mert and Marcus have ever shot,” Arnault said. “It’s a very iconic campaign.”

Scarlett Johansson was the first A-lister to sign on. She plays Cinderella, dashing down a staircase with the castle aglow in the distance. The image was photographed on the steps of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial on New York’s Riverside Drive with Disney World’s Cinderella castle digitally imposed behind her.

“Scarlett Johansson couldn’t wait to put on that tiara,” Leibovitz says. The Harry Winston creation is valued at $325,000. The glass slipper was made for the shoot by Steuben. Says Johansson, 22, via e-mail, “It wasn’t hard to coax my foot into the iconic glass slipper; it’s every little girl’s dream, mine included.”

To launch Disney Parks “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration, spectacular new images were unveiled today featuring the work of acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz, and starring Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, Beyonc? taking a spin in a giant teacup and David Beckham slaying a dragon.

Leibovitz’s images also fulfill one of Beckham’s “dreams,” as the Disney Parks project is his first endorsement since signing a contract to play professional soccer in the United States.

In addition to the three debut images, Disney Parks has commissioned more images by Leibovitz that will feature other celebrities in classic, Disney fairy tale settings.

“I’m really delighted to be part of the ‘Where Dreams Come True’ campaign,” said Leibovitz. “We live in difficult times and I feel, especially as a parent, that keeping dreams alive is one of the most important things we can do.”

Each image features a scene with the featured celebrities transformed into the role of a fabled Disney character, expressing their own dreams and imagination.

When Scarlett Johansson turned up on the set for Louis Vuitton’s spring campaign last month, the crew discovered the actress had given her famous blonde locks a pink tint.

That suited Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs just fine, given the romantic mood of his collection, which featured dense ruffles, Liberty prints and monogram handbags overlaid with metallic lace.

“She looks like the French coquette,” Jacobs said of Johansson’s appearance in Vuitton’s next campaign, slated to break in February magazines. “It’s just fresh, very romantic and extremely pretty.”
