Scarlett Johansson, George Clooney and Matt Damon have been enlisted by hip-hop duo Mattafix - Marlon Roudette and Preetesh Hirji - to take part in a charity single project timed to coincide with the Global Day for Darfur on Sunday. The celebrities have given a series of personal introductions to the band’s video, which was filmed in a refugee camp in Chad, near the border with Darfur. Others involved include Turner prize winning artist Chris Ofili, who produced artwork for the single, and Mick Jagger who provided financial support for the video. The single Living Darfur is available to download on Monday. Source: The Guardian |

Details are still ketchy regarding the April 26 The Jesus and Mary Chain Coachella warm-up but it does look like Scarlett did not perform with the band on that date. She did, however, take the stage yesterday at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California to sing the backing vocals to Just Like Honey. Here are two reports that I came across:
I’ve also added 19 pictures of Scarlett’s performance to the gallery. |

According to Cat Dirt Sez, The Jesus and Mary Chain are reportedly set to team up with Scarlett Johansson for a special show. Following rumours they would have a special guest on their US tour dates, the actress will sing back up on their Coachella warm-up date in Pomona, California on April 26. It is not known if the collaboration will be a one off or will be repeated, although with the gig happening so close to the festival, if the collaboration goes ahead it could easily be repeated for the event. The band are set to play their first gigs since they split up in 1998. A little piece of trivia: The Jesus and Mary Chain is, of course, the band behind Just Like Honey, the song played during the final credits of Lost in Translation. |

FoxNews.com reported on Monday that Scarlett has signed a deal to make her first record. “Scarlett Sings Tom Waits”, an album of songs by Tom Waits, is being recorded now and through the winter, with a possible release next spring from Rhino Records’ recently reactivated Atco label. The eventual release date will be coordinated with Scarlett’s movie schedule. Please keep in mind that the story have not been confirmed by Johansson’s publicist and should be taken as gossip for the time being. |
