As actors and film crews working for Woody Allen clog up the already bustling streets of Barcelona this summer, the residents of this eastern Spanish city have begun to ask why their city hall is helping fund the director’s next film.
With a section of the city’s famously busy Las Ramblas boulevard among the streets to have been blocked off for Allen and stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Penélope Cruz, the grumbling has turned into a political row.
Some 10% of the budget for the film, known as The Barcelona Project and featuring Spanish actor Javier Bardem, comes from city and Catalan regional taxpayers.
Barcelona city hall has set aside almost €1m (£680,000) to help fund the film, as well as providing police escorts for Johansson and others. A further €500,000 comes from the regional government of Catalonia.

| I’ve added three stunning pictures of Ms. Johansson on the set earlier today. As usual, she looks absolutely lovely there! Hopefully some more will surface shortly. |

After *two months* of internet downtime, I am finally back up and running! It feels great to be back and I have so many things to add to the site as soon as I can get to it.
I’ve started by adding 26 HQs of Scarlett filming the Woody Allen project yesterday, July 23. That would be day 11, if I’ve counted correctly. Due to popular demand I’ve also made screencaptures of the color version of The Man Who Wasn’t There. Heavens to Betsy, Birdie! Scarlett was already way gorgeous back in 2001.

There has not been any new pictures from the set of Woody Allen Spanish Project this week as they have been filming indoors. I did, however, manage to upload a couple of more of Scarlett and Woody on day five.
Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 07/08 campaign ads are slowly starting to appear in magazines so please let us know if you spot any. I’ve added two new ones in the gallery, as well as a Russian Color Riche ad. Thanks so much to our awesome forum members for all of the great finds!

Penelope Cruz was asked about Scarlett Johansson at a Monday press conference in Ibiza, Spain, where she and her younger sister, Monica, launched their Mango clothing collection. “We have a lot of scenes together,” Cruz told People. “Scarlett’s very sweet. I’ve met her a few times just around. I’m so excited for this film. I’ve been going around saying my lines everywhere.”
