Scarlett Johansson sparkled in an ivory strapless dress at Wednesday’s Los Angeles premiere of The Spirit. Her ankle length chiffon dress had a fitted ruched bodice and belted waist above a full skirt. She accessorized with silver sequined platform heels, a wide bracelet in her right hand and a flower barret in her honey blond hair, which was styled with a side parting. It was swept back on the left side with the hair clip. She vamped up the look with bright blush and lip color.

She was joined on the red carpet by the entire cast of Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendes, Paz Vega and the missing main stars as of late: Gabriel Macht, Jaime King and Sarah Paulson.

In all the promotional materials for the film, Silken Floss has been showcased alongside all the other women in the story, suggesting the role played by Scarlett Johansson is a lead, along with Sand Saref (Eva Mendes) and Ellen Dolan (Sarah Paulson). But Silken started off as a minor role– until Johansson expressed interest.

Johansson told a story at Saturday’s press conference for The Spirit about meeting with Frank Miller about the movie, even though there weren’t really any parts for her in it. “At the end of it I was like ‘I’m sad there’s nothing for me to do!’ and he said ‘I’ll think of something.’ He decided to expand this character.” Johansson added with a smile, “I got super, super lucky.”

Scarlett along with Eva Mendes and Samuel L. Jackson were interviewed on Le Grand Journal, a popular live show on French TV. It was after the Paris premiere yesterday as Scarlett was in the same outfit. The show is translated into French but you can here their English answers too.

Next stop, Paris, France! Scarlett, Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson and Frank Miller took the red carpet for the Paris premiere of their film The Spirit. Miss Johansson looked exquisite in a white strapless dress with a flaired bottom. She accented her look with trademark red lippy, a classy but not constricting ponytail, diamond jewels and black heels. I really adore this look and her an Eva look great photographed together against the black and red backdrop! I have added the first images from the event. Director Frank Miller has revealed he rewrote the role of Silken Floss in his upcoming film The Spirit to capitalise on Scarlett Johansson’s talents.

Frank said he adapted Silken Floss – who in the original comic book series was much older – because he was so keen for Johansson to star in the movie.

“I re-wrote Silken Floss completely to reflect something I saw in Scarlett which was blindingly obvious but I hadn’t see many directors use which was her sense of comic timing, her wry humour and thought ‘OK, the character is kind of a repressed astrophysicist, but how did she spend her 20s?’. And I thought Scarlett would be perfect.”
