Scarlett Johansson wants to direct her own major movie soon.

She proudly showed off her directorial debut – These Vagabond’s Shoes – at the LA Shorts Fest 09, and she gushed: “It was exciting to be on that side of the camera.

“I’m hoping it will lead to a feature.”

The actress also described her first experience of directing as an “amuse-bouche”.

“I really got to work with the best of the best but in a really short and sweet kind of way. It was the perfect first taste,” she said.

And despite rising to fame in front of cameras, Scarlett confessed she’s hankered after trying out directing since she was a child.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do ever since I was probably 12 years old – it was very exciting for me to sample it,” she said.

As previously announced, Scarlett is at tonight’s opening gala for the Los Angeles Shorts Fest.  I’ve added the first very small batch of photos to the gallery and all I have to say is o…m…g.  My jaw literally dropped.  She looks amazing!  She’s wearing a cream colored knee length dress and tan peep toes.  She has obviously just gotten her hair cut and colored as it is much shorter and much lighter than what we saw in Madrid just last week.  Very glamorous and very old Hollywood.  Love it!  This has my vote for best look in 2009 so far.  How about you guys?

A small gallery update but it’s filled with new treats for you all.  First up, a new still from Iron Man 2 has been released featuring Scarlett as her Natasha Romanoff persona.  Thank you Stephanie for the heads up on it.  Another thank you to Risa for emailing me with the newest photo from Scarlett’s Dolce & Gabanna campaign.  You will notice that it is very similar to the Spring campaign.  And finally, I’ve screencapped a short video I found which features a lot of behind the scenes footage of Scarlett at the Mango photoshoot plus an interview with her at the photocall earlier this month.

The folks over at EW have given us a better glimpse of the upcoming cover and feature in the new issue which should be on newsstands Friday.  So what do you all think of Scarlett as Black Widow?  I’m loving the color of her hair but I’m not so impressed with how it’s styled.  I’m hoping it will look more natural in the movie.  Feel free to leave your comments below

Scarlett made a brief appearance in Madrid today at the photocall for the official launch of her Mango campaign.  She wore a shiny blue blouse and a  high-waisted black pencil skirt all designed by Mango.  She is still sporting her brunette locks and I think she looks fantastic!
