Scarlett and Ryan encourage you to… Not vote. Video via Myspace Celebrity.

Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Snoop Dogg, Harrison Ford, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Will Smith, Steven Spielberg, Justin Timberlake, along with Sacha Baron Cohen as “Borat,” Zach Braff, Colin Farrell, Neil Patrick Harris, Scarlett Johansson, Shia LeBeouf, Tobey Maguire, Ryan Reynolds, and Jason Segal, are featured in a second of a series of public service announcements to encourage American youth to vote in partnership with Google, YouTube, Declare Yourself, and MySpace. The non-partisan PSA’s, produced by DiCaprio’s Appian Way, were created to engage and inspire young people to vote and participate in the upcoming election.

In an effort to raise its socially conscious voice to the already loud socially active part of its environment, YouTube has launched a campaign with the lofty “Millennium Development Goal” of “cutting global poverty in half by 2015.”

The campaign, “In my name,” unites the online destination with Global Call to Action Against Poverty, Oxfam International, Save the Children and Comic Relief to help spread the message that poverty around the world needs to be eliminated.

To get out the word, YouTube last week unveiled a dedicated micro-site, YouTube.com/inmyname, where visitors can upload videos stating their name, home country and a message to their government about the need to meet the poverty goals. Among the celebs who already have put videos on the site are Mischa Barton, Ellie McPherson, Kristin Davis, Annie Lennox, Scarlett Johansson, John Legend, Wyclef Jean and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.

As many of you already noticed, I added the photo coverage of Scarlett’s appearance on Tonight Show with Jay Leno earlier this week. After some technical difficulties, I was finally able to upload the video today. It is a lengthy interview and, as usual, Scarlett handles herself with so much class - even when it comes to some rather strange questions. Loyal fan Phil also sent in a video of Scarlett’s appearance on The Early Show from August 12. I’ve added it and made some screencaps. Happy downloading!

I’ve uploaded the gallery with 100+ new HQs from the two events that Scarlett attended this week and made screencaps of her brand new interviews. Be sure to view the Movie Guy interview here. Unfortunately I am having trouble converting videos (and have been for several months) but I hope I’ll be able to update the video archive sometime soon.

I have a lot of goodies to bring you again today. First of all, Scarlett is in two new commercials for Japan’s Mt. Rainier. It appears that the other commercial is the one we see her shoot in the Falling Down music video (lookie). She sure looks pretty but I find it so hilarious that she’s doing these commercials. Lost in Translation, much? Anyway, I’ve added the two new commercials in the video archive and made caps of them. Massive thanks to Sayuri for these!

I have also added stills of the Pepsi Smash On Location and MySpace Artist on Artist sessions (caps of both coming asap) and some preview scans of Scarlett’s new Nylon cover. Credit goes out to the original scanner for these. I will replace these with original HQ scans once the issue is available to my regular scanning helpers.

This week’s issue of NME - on UK newsstands nationwide from tomorrow (May 21) - has an exclusive cover story and photoshoot with Scarlett Johansson. Stay tuned for scans!

Actress Scarlett Johansson, who released an album of Tom Waits covered named “Anywhere I Lay My Head” yesterday (May 19), has hinted that she may play festival dates this summer.

The star said that the only thing stopping her was stagefright.

“It would be sad to not get everybody [band members] together,” she told The London Paper. “Whether it’s at a festival or somewhere that’s kind of fun.

“[But] I have horrible stage fright, so it would have to be overcome. People approach me [about playing live] and my usual answer is, ‘Ah, I’ll think about that’.

“When I do think about it, I start to get really sweaty and uncomfortable and itchy around the neck.”
