Besides starting to film Woody Allen’s newest film next month, there has not been a whole lot going on with Scarlett Johansson recently, atleast not in the public eye. I assume she is currently cutting her first album and preparing for her new role.
Regarding recent magazine coverage, Scarlett was on the cover of You magazine (The Mail On Sunday) a week back with a great article regarding her recent trip to India. She’s also currently featured in the new issue of teen mag Bliss. Both of these are British magazines and we will have scans up shortly.
Here’s an excerpt from the You article, which mentions that Scarlett was approached by Al Gore to help in publicising next month’s Live Earth concert. So perhaps we’ll be seeing her there – unless she’ll already be filming in Spain.
She won’t be drawn on this possible film project, but she does share another message, from Al Gore. That’s former US vice president Al Gore, asking for Scarlett’s help in publicising Live Earth, July’s big Live Aid-style global concert to draw attention to climate change.
Last but not least, I should be back online within a week or two so look out for regular updates to resume soon. Meanwhile, I’ve updated the style quotes and beauty bag with a lot of new information. And check out the gallery for new L’Oreal and Louis Vuitton ads. Thanks so much to everyone who sent in these! Much appreciated.
According to France24.com, Woody Allen will begin filming his latest film on July 9. No word when Scarlett will be flying to Spain.
US director Woody Allen will begin filming his new, as yet untitled film, starring Scarlett Johansson, in the Spanish city of Barcelona on July 9, production society Mediapro said Thursday.
Joining Johansson will be English actress Rebecca Hall as well as Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
Some scenes will be directed in the northern Spanish region of Asturias, where Allen spent Tuesday in the regional capital Oviedo seeking out sites to film in through to late August.
“The region of Asturias is magnificent. I always wanted to come to Spain to work and now I have the chance,” Spanish news media quoted Allen as saying.
The 71-year-old Academy Award-winning director is widely admired in Spain, and Oviedo itself boasts a lifesize bronze statue of him. Allen first visited the city to accept the Asturias prize for art in 2002.
According to New York Post, Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst have showed interest in starring in a film adaptation of Monopoly. The world’s best-selling game is being transferred into an improbable feature-length movie by director Ridley Scott. Scarlett has reportedly found the idea of a film version “funny, wacky, but interesting.”
Hasbro, the owners of Monopoly’s manufacturers, Parker Brothers, expects the movie to be a blockbuster with Ridley at the helm. Casting agency William Morris told the company that it would take sexy stars to make the unlikely film a worldwide hit.
“Everyone has played Monopoly in one version or another so, hopefully, they would be curious about how it translates to the screen,” a Hasbro consultant said.
The “Celebrity 100 Power List” by Forbes Magazine has listed Oprah Winfrey as the number one most influential and highest earning person of this year. Scarlett listed #77 this year. Her pay rank is #95, web rank #22, press rank #36 and TV/radio rank #67. Apparently her pay is $5 mil.
The sultry star appeared in three films last year: The Prestige, The Black Dahlia and Woody Allen’s Scoop. But Johansson is earning more from her looks than her acting these days, thanks to endorsement deals with L’Oréal, Reebok and Louis Vuitton. Look for her in this fall’s The Nanny Diaries.
Woody Allen began scouting Barcelona to find spots – among them La Sagrada Familia, a Catholic cathedral that has been under construction here for decades – to film scenes for his next movie.
Sources with the cathedral’s construction board told Efe that the filmmaker visited the structure designed by the late Antoni Gaudi, one of the Barcelona landmarks that will certainly appear in the film.
Although the film has no title as yet, it will tell the story of a U.S. tourist – Scarlett Johansson – on vacation in Barcelona and the relationships she strikes up with some of the local residents, notably one played by Spanish actor Javier Bardem.
TypicallySpanish.com has published a new article regarding Scarlett’s newest collaboration with Woody Allen. He has arrived in Spain now for pre-production.
Woody Allen has arrived in Barcelona to organise the details of his latest film which is to be filmed over the summer in the city and in Oviedo. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.
Allen has already met with representatives of Mediapro, the production company which is financing the film, in their offices in the new Agbar tower, and members of his direction team have already spent several weeks in the city finding locations for the film.
On June 14th Allen will also be invested ‘doctor honoris causa’ by the Pompeu Fabra university in Barcelona.
The date comes at the request of Allan who says he will start shooting on the same day.
Imko contributed the full set of outtakes from Scarlett’s recent Parade photoshoot. It consists of 38 photos and they’re absolutely gorgeous! Make sure you log in to view. Many thanks to Imko for these!
This will, unfortunately, most likely be my last update for the month. I am moving house so it will take a while for my internet to be re-connected. But fear not, Mycah will keep the site updated and then there’s always the forum. And when I return, you can expect a ton of new and exclusive goodies here at Scarlett-Fan.com. Stay tuned!
I’ve added some nice shots of Scarlett attending various public events a few years back. She’s pictured with various cool celebrities, including Anne Hathaway, Rosario Dawson, Tara Subkoff and Alan Cumming. Click here to view all new additions.
We have a brand new theme up at the gallery! It was created by the lovely and talented Mycah of Purple Haze Inc. The source for the photos used is the recent Seventeen photoshoot. If you prefer the darker previous theme over this more summery one, you can still choose it from the drop-down menu on the bottom of the page or by clicking here.
Also, an announcement of sorts. I have received a lot of lovely gallery contributions recently but unfortunately I’ve been too busy to reply to all of the emails or add the photos here because of my new job. Please bear with me and I’ll get to it with better time.
