Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media will fund and produce a movie about Mary Queen of Scots with Scarlett Johansson attached.
The financier and producer also said Thursday that Relativity has acquired the rights to the Tom Clancy fictional character John Kelly and will produce a movie version of the writer’s bestseller Without Remorse. Screenplay is being written by Stuart Beattie.
In its four years as a film investor, Relativity said it has pumped roughly $4.5 billion into Hollywood studio slates or into specific films being made by independents. Kavanaugh described the individual production partners with whom the company is working as “our portfolio managers,” stressing that he primarily wants to be in business with those producers who are adept at making profitable as well as entertaining movies.
The Mary Queen of Scots project will be produced by Kavanaugh as well as New Regency’s Alexandra Milchan and Melanie Johanasson. Project will be penned by Jimmy McGovern and directed by John Curran. Capitol Films is handling worldwide rights here in Cannes.
Ms. Johansson’s publicist has informed me that despite the rumors currently circling online, there is no truth to Scarlett joining the cast of Roman Polanski’s Pompeii.
Also, Mary Queen of Scots has been postponed so it will not be shot this summer/fall. Scarlett’s next movie will be the Woody Allen Spanish Project, which is set to begin filming in July in Barcelona and Asturias. But before that, she will record her album next month.
As earlier reported, Scarlett Johansson went to the Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art honoring Poiret yesterday. She looked flirty in a modified Stella McCartney Fall 2007 dress and posed for the photographers with the designer herself and model Amber Valetta. The first pictures from the set have now been added to the gallery.
I have some amazing pictures to bring you today! I came across 38 additional pictures of Scarlett’s visit to India (in February 2007) and they are nothing short of stunning to view. It really looks like it was an amazing, life-changing experience for her! Maria also scanned the May 3, 2007 issue of Vanity Fair, which talks about Scarlett’s experience. Last but not least, I’ve added 100+ pictures from the Louis Vuitton LoVe Party.
According to Fashion Week Daily, Scarlett will attend Monday night’s Costume Institute Gala, where she will be at Louis Vuitton’s table. Other expected celebrities include The Black Dahlia co-stars Hilary Swank and Rose McGowan, Rosario Dawson and many more.
Scarlett Johansson arrived at the Louis Vuitton LoVe party yesterday evening in a metallic Louis Vuitton corset-inspired top and pleated skirt. To complete the ensemble, she paired the outfit with matching ring and earrings and a pair of silver pumps. The event was held to benefit Oxfam. 62 HQs have now been added to the gallery.
According to The New York Post, Scarlett will be hosting an event tonight:
That new Louis Vuitton president Daniel Lalonde and Scarlett Johansson are hosting a gala tonight to celebrate Vuitton’s new “LoVe” collection at the Fifth Avenue store… That Carl Loewenson is the new chairman of the Javits Convention Center, as we first reported, but he’s not leaving the Morrison & Foerster law firm. The Javits job is unpaid, and Loewenson is keeping his day gig… That a marketing campaign has been launched to dress some of the city’s most beloved statues in custom-made N.Y. Rangers jerseys.
I have finally finished editing and uploading the Saturday Night Live videos. A total of eight clips can now be found here. Unfortunately my Windows Movie Maker is acting up so there is some strange picture delay in the beginning of the videos. I am sorry about that but I have no idea how to fix it and believe me, I tried several times.
Well, without futher ados – happy viewing!
