Scarlett Johansson may enjoy a good year at the movies, according to a recent survey by Fandango, the nation’s largest online, phone and mobile movie ticketing destination.
To compile the “Fandango Fifty”, the entertainment site asked filmgoers to rank the stars they are most looking forward to seeing on the big screen in 2007. The online survey was posted at Fandango during the last week of December 2006, when several thousand moviegoers voted for the actors most likely to draw them to the theater.
Leading the pack as the most anticipated female performer is Reese Witherspoon, slated to appear in the 2007 political thriller Rendition (#1), followed by Sandra Bullock (#2), Julia Roberts (#3), Keira Knightley (#4), and Drew Barrymore at #5. Scarlett Johansson was voted as number 12 with The Nanny Diaries and The Other Boleyn Girl.
“The Fandango Fifty shows the importance of star power at the box office, and reflects moviegoer excitement about the real variety at theaters this year,” says Fandango Film Commentator Richard Horgan.

Scarlett Johansson has rubbished reports she acted like a diva on the set of Justin Timberlake’s new music video. She recently teamed up with Timberlake for his new music video What Goes Around… Comes Around but the event has been dogged by speculation the actress behaved like a diva throughout. Johansson was said to have thrown a strop when she wasn’t allowed to smoke on set, and allegedly said, “How come we have fire dancers, but I can’t smoke?” Eating in front of her was also reportedly banned, with her bodyguard telling crew members to go somewhere else if they were going to eat.
However, Johansson’s publicist Marcel Pariseau has blasted the claims, reports the New York Daily News. He says, “Scarlett is always respectful of other people and never made this statement. Also, Scarlett doesn’t have a bodyguard.”
I have created 15 MSN icons of some of my favorite screencaptures of Scarlett in The Black Dahlia and added them to the fan archive.
Here’s a fabulous update to celebrate the passing year and the upcoming 2007. It’s been a busy year for Scarlett Johansson. Hopefully the new year will bring us more amazing performances, pictures and other projects from her. Cheers to that!
I received my copy of The Black Dahlia and created HQ captures of Scarlett as Kay Lake as well as from the special features, which included rare stills and interviews. Be sure to pick up your very own DVD if you have not already!
The rumor has it that Miss Scarlett is the star of Justin Timberlake’s video for his new single, What Goes Around. The video is being filmed this week in Los Angeles.
This is reported by Nick Cassavettes, the director of Alpha Dog:
I had the pleasure of visiting the set of the music video, What Goes Around Comes Back Around. It stars Scarlett Johansson, Shawn Hatosy, and of course, Mr. T. There is even an appearance by the lovely Miss Wahlquist, and it is directed by the incomparable Sam Bayer. The stuff looked great. Should be fun to see.
Merry Christmas, happy Hannukah and peaceful Holidays to Scarlett and the Johansson family, and of course, to all of you loyal visitors! Thank you for the passing year and for your visits, dedication and support.
I came across three pictures from the set of The Other Boleyn Girl taken on December 5, 2006. The images have been added to Scarlett-Photos.com.
Scarlett Johansson was driven off the the set of her new film still in costume as Anne Boleyn’s sister Mary. After a two hour break filming resumed in Dover Castle, the most haunted castle in England.
Big thanks to Elmira Asainova for sending in scans from the January/February 2007 issue of Premiere magazine, which features clippings on Scarlett’s two upcoming films, The Nanny Diaries and The Other Boleyn Girl. We’ve seen the images before but they feature quotes from Scarlett on both projects that are previously unseen.
Johansson was lured by the chance to work with Portman, in a project where both could shine. “It’s very clear that the meaning of the ‘other’ Boleyn girl changes over time”, she says.
Scarlett has made no. 5 on USA Today‘s Pop Cultures Top 100 People of the Year 2006 only to be beated by Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Borat & The YouTube nerds.
5. Scarlett Johansson.
Another year of being super-sexy — how can she handle the pressure? Scarlett also graced The Prestige and Woody Allen’s Scoop, a movie I didn’t think was nearly as terrible as critics made it out to be. (However, I can’t say the same for The Black Dahlia.) I’m kind of hoping those Tom Waits reports are true. If not, maybe she could play Tom’s daughter in a Jim Jarmusch movie or something.
