Kicking off what will surely be a long and storied run, Vanity Fair France just released their first issue, and Scarlett Johansson is all over the front.
The “We Bought a Zoo” actress was a natural choice for the inaugural issue and editorial director Michel Denisot couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
He explained, “She has every quality imaginable — the elegance, beauty, wit and impertinence that would make her a perfectly decent Parisian if she decides to move permanently into the apartment she has bought in Paris not far from here.”
You probably also noticed some downtime in the gallery. The current theme has been disabled and I am working on a new layout to put up to the site and the gallery. Stay tuned!

Stepping out for a night of musical magic, Hollywood’s brightest stars hit up New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night (June 9) for the 67th Annual Tony Awards.
Scarlett Johansson brought her gorgeous smile to the Big Apple red carpet and rocked a sexy black rock as she stopped for a quick pose before heading inside.

Keeping tabs on who profits off of her, Scarlett Johansson is suing a French publisher for unauthorized use of her name.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Lost in Translation” star is seeking damages for “breach and fraudulent use of personal rights,” and seeks an injunction on “future transfer of rights and adaptations of the book.”
At issue is the Gregoire Delacourt novel about a mechanic who meets a woman asking for help. The mechanic believes the woman is Johansson, but the character is actually revealed as a woman named Jeanine Foucaprez.
Defending his choice, the author told French radio RTL, “This corresponds with the fantasies of our times. All these famous people live with us. But I wrote a book of fiction. My character is not Scarlett Johansson, it is [character name] Jeanine Foucaprez! It’s a bit silly to say that if you talk about a person, the courts have to get involved. That’s quite sad.”
Hoping to nab a coveted role, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon Jessica Chastain, and Amanda Seyfried are all reportedly in the running to star as Hillary Clinton in an upcoming film.
Directed by James Ponstoldt, “Rodham” tells the story of the former Secretary of State’s beginnings as a lawyer in Washington in the 1970s.
In an interview with The Independent, however, the director says there’s been no decision, saying, “We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position.”
Speaking about the difficult choice, he added, “Regardless of people’s political affiliation or how they feel about Hillary Clinton, you don’t find people who question the quality of her intelligence or her drive. I want a wonderful actress who could embody that.”
Shortly after it was announced that Spike Jonze’s new film Her, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Olivia Wilde and Rooney Mara, had been given a theatrical release date of November 20th, 2013, it has been revealed that Scarlett Johansson and Chris Pratt are also listed as cast members.
This news comes from Warner Brothers Pictures’ Twitter account, which tweeted:
“Spike Jonze’s new film, ‘Her’, w/ Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt & Olivia Wilde to open Nov. 20th.”
The film was shot in the first quarter of 2012 and through the whole production process there was no mention of Johansson or Pratt, so this announcement is completely out of the blue. As random as it may be though, I’m definitely happy about this reveal.
Johansson and Pratt are both fantastic actors and I think their comedy backgrounds will suit this film perfectly. I also cannot wait to see them sharing the screen with the likes of Phoenix, Adams, Wilde and Mara.
For those of you unfamiliar with the film, Her “is a quirky romance following Theodore (Phoenix), a lonely writer purchases a newly developed operating system (not unlike iPhone’s Siri) designed to meet the user’s every needs. To Theodore’s surprise, a romantic relationship develops between him and his operating system.”
Are you excited to see Her? Do you think she will fit well into the film? Let us know in the comments below.
The first international trailer for Joseph Gordon Levitt’s directorial debut is now out! You can view it in this link, we will try to add captures to the gallery soon, but meanwhile, let us know your opinion! We think it looks amazing!
For now, the only release date we have is the US one: October 18th.
Scarlett Johansson was turned out in her full Black Widow costume and drove around in a sports car. If you weren’t able to get down to the Mall to see “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” as it filmed near the Air & Space Museum and the Capitol on Tuesday, all the local TV news teams went down to check it out and capture the mechanisms of Hollywood filmmaking in all its riveting/tedious glory. Plus — look, it’s Anthony Mackie! Production will continue at scattered sites around D.C. through Thursday.

Scarlett Johansson has signed up for a supporting role in Jon Favreau’s Chef, Aldamisa, which is repping the film as Cannes, announced Wednesday.
The film, written, directed and starring Favreau, will also star Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Bobby Cannavale. Scarlett is a tremendous talent and I’m honored to be collaborating with her again. I’m so fortunate to be working with such a fine ensemble,” said Favreau in a statement. Favreau directed Iron Man 2, which starred Johansson as Natasha Romanoff. Chef will also reunite Johansson and Favreau with Iron Man star Downey, who also starred in Avengers with Johansson.
The film, based on Favreau’s original idea, follows a man, Carl Casper (Favreau), who loses his chef job and cooks up a food truck business in hopes of reestablishing his artistic promise. At the same time, he tries to reconnect with his estranged family.
Johansson will play a woman named Molly, a restaurant manager and love interest of Favreau’s character.
Karen Gilchrist and Aldamisa Co-Chairman Sergei Bespalov are producing. Aldamisa is financing along with Kilburn Media and Mark Manuel. Production begins on July 8 in Los Angeles.
CAA packaged the deal and will handle U.S. distribution rights. Jere Hausfater and Philip Elway negotiated the deal on behalf of Aldamisa.
