Thanks a bunch to Mette for donating images of Scarlett at the ‘Her’ Premiere, at The 8th Rome Film Festival. Check them out below.
Scarlett Johansson admits she puts pressure on her fiancé to change as a person.
The ‘Don Jon’ actress is set to marry French former journalist Romain Dauriac soon, but says she – like many other people – has to work hard to understand and respect who he is as a person, rather than try and change him into the man she would ideally like him to be.
She said: “I can certainly relate to this habit of wanting your partner to just kind of fit into this mould you’ve made for them. We do place pressure on somebody to just do it the way we think it should be done.
“It takes a lot of growth and searching to understand that it is the differences in relationships that enrich and strengthen the relationship; that help us evolve as people and partners. I understand that conviction – I know that is something I am guilty of.”
Johansson is very happy in her personal and professional life at the moment.
The 29-year-old actress – who was previously married to Ryan Reynolds – is particularly happy in her career and feels blessed to be able to do something she loves for a living.
Speaking to Marie Claire magazine, she explained: “I think I’ve always been, by nature, a happy person. You know, everybody has their moments, but I do what I love and my job is very satisfying and I get paid to do it. I live in New York, I live in Paris, I get to travel a lot. I work with people I admire. How can I complain?”
She tends to keep her personal life under wraps, but Scarlett Johansson chose to reveal details about her engagement in the December 2013 issue of Marie Claire UK magazine.
During her interview with the publication, “The Avengers” dame chats about her new fiance Romain Dauriac and admits her recent flick “Don Jon” changed her opinion about porn.
Check out a few highlights from Miss Johansson’s Q&A session below. For more, be sure to visit Marie Claire UK!
On her engagement announcement:
“My friend emailed me and said, ‘Wow, it’s so great that you’re about to go do this huge invasive press tour for 10 days. He said, ‘That won’t bring up every awkward question you don’t want to answer and won’t’ And I was like, you know, it is what it is.”
On her relationships views:
“I can certain relate to this habit of wanting your partner to just kind of fit into this mold you’ve made for them. We do place pressure on somebody to just do it the way we think it should be done. It takes growth and searching to understand that it is the difference in relationships that enrich and strength the relationship, that helps us evolve as people and partners. I understand that conviction; I know that is something I am guilty of.”
On her thoughts about porn:
“I think porn like anything else, can be enjoyed. It can be productive for both men and women. If I found out my boyfriend watched that much porn I would be totally flabbergasted, for sure.”
She’s always up for a new challenge, and Scarlett Johansson looked pretty intense as she filmed scenes for her new movie “Lucy” in Taipei, China on Tuesday (October 21).
Joined by costar Min-Sik Choi, the “Lost in Translation” starlet donned some voluminous blonde locks as she worked her mojo for the cameras.
Meanwhile, Scarlett has been devoting some of her free time to a new all-girl band called The One & Only Singles.
Ms. Johansson told Malibu magazine, “I’ve just been slammed with work, and we just haven’t been able to finish [recording]. I write music sometimes in my trailer when nothing else is happening. I wish I could do that full-time. I would love to have that gift. But I don’t. So, for me, it has to be more of a collaborative process. Because I’m not a songwriter. I can understand lyrics, I understand melody, but it’s something that I would have to dedicate myself to, and I don’t have the time.”
As for the group, Scarlett explained, “I would say it’s super-pop … It’s like unabashed pop. The idea was to write super-pop dance music written and performed by girls. Like Grimes … something like that. I love Grimes. And I love the Bangles. And I love the Go-Go’s. I wanted it to be like those bands- ultra pop but also a little ironic, a little in on the joke.”
She can light up a screen like no one else, but Scarlett Johansson never actually appears during the forthcoming film “Her.”
The “We Bought a Zoo” babe plays a computer girlfriend in the Spike Jonze flick, and her voice performance is so good she may be nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award despite the fact that she’s never actually on camera.
After the weekend world premiere at the New York Film Festival, Scott Foundas of Variety wrote, “It’s Johansson who pulls off the trickiest feat: She creates a complex, full-bodied character without any body at all. Detached from her lethally curvaceous figure, the actress’ breathy contralto is no less seductive, but it also alights with tenderness and wonder as Samantha, both here on Earth and up there in the Cloud, voraciously devours literature, philosophy and human experience.”
“Johansson’s work in the film is lovely, and the best thing about the way she plays the part is that there’s nothing calculated or ‘sexy’ about the way she approaches it. Removed from the undeniable sweater-girl appeal she packs when she’s onscreen, forced to rely only on her voice, Johansson comes across as a warm, curious, vibrant personality. It’s incredibly appealing,” added Drew McWeeny of HitFix.
“Her” is slated to hit theaters on January 10th.
After much anticipation, Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey’s fragrance ad for Dolce & Gabbana’s The One is finally here!
Directed by Martin Scorsese, the black-and-white shot spread features the “Mud” actor and “The Avengers” beauty, both rocking their Sunday best.
The brand ambassadors cozy up next to each other as McConaughey points off to the distance.
As recently reported by GossipCenter, Scarlett nabbed the 2013 Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” title.
While chatting with the publication, the 28-year-old actress joked about her thriving career. “You know, I gotta hustle, I’m a twenty-eight year old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you’re offered all become mothers.”
“Then they just sort of stop.I have to hedge against that with work – theater, producing this thing with Esquire. Sounds pretty bloodless, I guess,” she added.

Taking some time away from the set of her upcoming action flick “Lucy,” Scarlett Johansson garnered a little added exposure by covering the November 2013 issue of Esquire magazine.
Snatching the “Sexiest Woman Alive” title from 2012’s stunner Mila Kunis, “The Avengers” beauty dished about her relationship with her fiancé Romain Dauriac and chatted about her thriving career.
“I don’t think I was a jealous person,” Scarlett explained. “Until I started dating my current, my one-and-only, I think maybe in the past I didn’t have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn’t capable of it or caring that much.
In regards to her career, Miss Johansson stated while laughing, “You know, I gotta hustle. I’m a twenty-eight-year-old woman in the movie business, right? Pretty soon the roles you’re offered all become mothers.”
“Then they just sort of stop. I have to hedge against that with work – theater, producing, this thing with Esquire. Sounds pretty bloodless, I guess,” she added.
