New York Magazine just posted a nice interview with Scarlett and Pete Yorn about their upcoming album ‘Break Up’.  The piece also included two MQ photos from the promotional photoshoot which I have added to the gallery.

One muted winter afternoon in 2006, Pete Yorn awoke from a sleeplike trance convinced that recording a duets album with Scarlett Johansson would save him. Unlike most people who have this thought, Yorn actually had the actress’s number. The two were acquainted through Yorn’s brother, an entertainment lawyer Johansson has worked with since she was a teenager. So Yorn texted her. Johansson hadn’t yet recorded or even announced her own 2008 album, the slight but likable Anywhere I Lay My Head, a collection of Tom Waits covers. But it turned out to be an opportune moment for both.

My search for a high definition version of the video for ‘Relator’ failed so I screencapped the best one I could find.  They’ve all been added to the gallery and I will continue to look for a better quality version.

The full length video for ‘Relator’, the first single off of Scarlett’s upcoming album of duets with Pete Yorn, has debuted today at Yahoo music.  You can click here to view it or just stay on the site and view it after the cut.  I’ll be attempting to search out a better quality version before making screencaps but I’m hoping to have something up later today.

Worstpreviews has posted a video containing the Iron Man 2 teaser that was played at this year’s Comic Con.  Scarlett is featured in it, but very briefly – blink and you might miss a couple of the shots.  I have no idea how long this will be up before they’re asked to take it down so go watch it now.  You can view it here.

It’s been a really slow week for Scarlett news that didn’t reek of tabloid rumors and gossip.  As I mentioned in my previous post, I am putting together a couple treats which should be up soon.  Today though, I’d like to see where all the visitors stand on the video archive.  I know it’s in serious need of updating but before I put hours and hours of work into the current one, I want to hear some opinions.  There are basically three choices:

• Keep the video archive as is and add to it.
• Create a streaming video site (like YouTube) where visitors would also be allowed to join and upload videos.
• Don’t care, just get to updating the videos already!

Unfortunately, there is no “have both” option.  For space and bandwidth reasons my host doesn’t allow it.  Feel free to leave a comment with your vote, thoughts, ideas, etc.

edit: For those that are interested in how a streaming version would be set up, visit the media archive at my Amy Adams site. If streaming media is what happens here, it would be similar to that.

Scarlett news is really slow right now but I am working behind the scenes on a couple new treats which should be up very soon.  In the meantime, enjoy the three HQ pics from the Break Up photoshoot that have been added to the gallery.  The album is due to come out on September 15th so we should start seeing more promotion for it any time now.  Pete Yorn himself hinted that a live show or two could be in the works. How exciting would that be?

There’s been several interviews with Robert posted after his appearance at Comic-Con.  Here is what he had to say about Scarlett’s character Black Widow:

Question: Is there a love triangle between Tony and Pepper, and Tony and the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson)?

Downey: We essentially started off saying it’s a love triangle, and then we realized that love triangle is done in these superhero movies, all the time. What we wanted to do was something just a little bit freakier than that, and I believe we have succeeded. Black Widow is a great character because she is not what she appears to be. It was a great opportunity. I don’t even know if it’s so much a love triangle. Pepper is exactly what she appears to be, except there’s a lot more going on under the surface, and that’s brought to bear, this time.
