You know an actress has a killer brand when clothing and spirits and athletic retailers alike can visualize her lighting up their next ad campaign.
Such is the image Scarlett Johansson has carved out for herself. She’s managed, somehow, to become one of the world’s biggest bombshells without sacrificing her innate indie-ingenue qualities. Guys lust after her — girls identify with her. She’s equally appealing to Vogue and Maxim audiences.
All of which makes her an advertising exec’s dream. Note to pitchmen and pitchwomen everywhere: totally blanking on a concept for your next assignment? Call to mind one of those buzzwords you’re always tossing out — fresh, sexy, edgy — and see if all of them don’t apply to Johansson.

Several Spanish news sites have announced that Scarlett will be replacing Penelope Cruz as the face of Mango for the Fall/Winter 2009/2010 campaign. Mango had this to say about why Scarlett was chosen:
“extraordinary personality, fun, young; she’s Mango’s ideal urban woman, independent and cosmopolitan.”
The launch date for this new campaign has not been announced but I will be adding a few behind the scenes photos from the shoot shortly.
edit: Three MQ behind the scenes photos have been added.

Some more gallery updates for today. I added a bigger version of her new album’s cover, three new gorgeous Anywhere I Lay My Head Promo Photoshoot images, and replaced some low quality photos for HQs. We were also missing pictures from an event that Scarlett attended in 2005, the 7th On Sale Gala, so I uploaded them. She was so lovely wearing a nice Calvin Klein dress.

A couple years before Scarlett recorded and released her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head, she recorded several duets with
singer/songwriter Pete Yorn. The nine songs on the album chronicle a tempestuous love affair from beginning to heartbreaking ending. An official site has been launched where you can listen to the first track, titled “Relator” and the album will be released on September 8, 2009.
The melodic relationship arc of singer/songwriter Pete Yorn and actress Scarlett Johansson: They get together, sing a few love songs and break up.
It’s not exactly tragic, since Break Up is a collection of duets the pair recorded with producer Sunny Levine. Yorn’s eight original compositions and Big Star founder Chris Bell’s I Am the Cosmos form a song cycle that chronicles a tempestuous affair. The album, out Sept. 8 on Atco/Rhino, was inspired by Serge Gainsbourg’s 1960s recordings with Brigitte Bardot, a concept that came to Yorn in a dream. He later reached out to Johansson, who sewed up her vocals in two afternoon sessions.
