Comingsoon.net talked to Phillip Noyce and among many other things, he made a brief mention of Mary, Queen of Scots.
On the Mary, Queen of Scots project with Scarlett Johansson: “That film was being financed by a company that essentially went broke… the finances went bankrupt early last year.”
Things are not looking good for the future of this project
Excitement at ITV2, which announces a reality show in which Fearne Cotton will shadow four famous women including Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson. What a scoop! “The series will be a real chance to peel back the layers of certain celebrities’ lives,” says Cotton. But how did they manage to sign such an A-list talent? Her agent, Marcel Pariseau, of True Public Relations, says: “We have never been approached about the Fearne Cotton show and Scarlett would never participate in this sort of show. Scarlett is a very private person. It’s a complete fabrication.” Sounds like something was lost in translation.
Thank God Scarlett won’t be taking part in that reality show, I can’t see her related to Paris Hilton in any way, and she’s a really private person. It sounded really strange.
Back in May, we reported that Scarlett’s segment was cut from New York, I Love You. We now have good news! Although the segment was not put back in, the short film will be getting a release of sorts.
Scarlett Johansson’s directorial debut, a short film titled The Vagabond Shows, starring Kevin Bacon, will premiere as part of the opening night of LA Shorts Fest ’09, which runs July 23-31 at the Sunset 5 Laemmle Theater in West Hollywood.
Johansson will appear and take part in a Q&A.
The festival, which will screen more than 300 films, is recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a qualifying fest for Oscar consideration.
This means another appearance very soon! We will of course keep you all updated as we learn more.
For the a new remake of Frankenstein, they want Bride Zilla to be played by someone “along the lines of Scarlett Johansson”. The role was originally played by Elsa Lanchester. What do you guys think? Is this a role you’d like to see Scarlett play?
“The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They’re looking for a person with great power and sex appeal. Someone along the lines of Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway.”
The wild-haired bride was originally played by English actress Elsa Lanchester.
The film follows on from ‘Frankenstein’ – which sees Dr. Frankenstein bring a ‘human’ to life from separate body parts – and sees the doctor create a partner for the monster.
A small but kind of fun update today. I recently came across some great promo ads for the Silken Floss action figure. Those have all been added to the gallery along with a couple new photos from the promo photoshoot and a few behind the scenes photos.
Registration for the gallery will be closing in a few days so hurry and register now
A few news sources have reported today that Scarlett will be taking part in a four part ITV series hosted by Fearne Cotton titled Ferne and…
Presenter Fearne Cotton is to shadow four famous women, including Scarlett Johansson and Paris Hilton, for a new ITV2 series in which she will attempt to find out what makes them tick.
The four part series, Fearne and…, which will also feature Alesha Dixon and Peaches Geldof, will see Cotton follow the stars at work and play through their daily lives as well as meeting their friends and families.
Not sure how I feel about this. If it’s done well (more like a documentary), I will probably watch it. What do you all think?
As Rope reported earlier, Scarlett was at the Los Angeles Film Festival launch dinner held last night at the BOA Steakhouse restaurant. However, there was no sign of Ryan so we’re still waiting for their first event photos together. Scarlett wore a form fitting, knee length LBD and a pair of very cute copper peep toes. Elegant up swept hair, natural toned makeup, and drop earrings completed the look. I’ve added a small batch of MQ photos to the gallery. Hopefully more will surface later.
edit: 10 HQ versions of some of the photos have been added.

As is very obvious, I went ahead and put up the new themes for the main site and the gallery. I was going to wait until I got back on Monday but the finishing touches didn’t take me as long as I thought they would. Plus, I just couldn’t wait anymore! The layout on the main site looks best in Firefox but works well in the latest version of IE. All of the links should work but if there are any issues, please don’t hesitate to email me and let me know.
I wanted the layouts to match without really matching so I used images from the same photoshoot but two different designers. The entire gallery theme was created by the very talented Chloe. The theme on the main site is a heavily modified version of one created by Amanda with the header graphic created by Megan. You guys can totally blame my trip to China for me deciding on a slightly oriental feel to the new look lol. I hope you all like it as much as I do.
For those of you that follow our Twitter account or have been paying attention to the tweets in the sidebar, you will already know that the site is in the process of being moved to its new host. The main site is done and there were no issues. My new host is currently working on moving the gallery. That should go smoothly as well but be aware that there could be some downtime.
edit: The transfers are now 100% complete! Very quick and almost painless. In celebration, I have opened up registration at the gallery. You do not need to be registered to view any of the photos we have but you will be able to comment on photos. Registration will only be open for about a week so hurry and join now
