Maybe this means that we’ll get the first pics of Scarlett and her husband Ryan together at an event? We hope so!

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced today its sponsors for the 2009 Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by the Los Angeles Times (www.latimes.com). The Los Angeles Film Festival will run from Thursday, June 18 to Sunday, June 28 in Westwood Village.

Joining the Festival in their second year and serving as a Platinum Sponsor, the Hotel Palomar will again host visiting Festival filmmakers. New in 2009, the Hotel Palomar will host Kodak Speed Dating and was the official venue for the highly successful June 5th Festival Lineup Announcement, hosted by Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna.

From June 11th-June 21st I will be in China on an educational trip.  The people in charge of the group has assured us that we will have internet connection while at our hotels but I imagine that I will be extremely busy and won’t have much time to spend online.  I am bringing a few files with me on my laptop so I will update if I can.  Also, Rope and Cam will take good care of the site while I’m gone.

When I return, I have a brand new look for both the site and gallery that will be debuted.  I am very excited about it and I hope that you all will like it.

For those of you who still enjoy collecting and listening to vinyl records, there’s a great event happening on June 20th.

This just in music fans – June 20th will mark the first Vinyl Saturday, a new event from the Record Store Day people.  Like Record Store Day, Vinyl Saturday will involve a whole lot of bands releasing exclusive material to independent record stores.

Other exclusives include a 7″ from the forthcoming Scarlett Johansson/Pete Yorn duets album Break Up (with a Yorn solo demo on the b-side).

So head on over to your local independent record store on the 20th and see if you can get a copy.  I’ve added a photo of the exclusive cover from this promotion to the gallery.

Scarlett has been listed as number 48 on this year’s Popsugar 100. A list featuring celebrities they think have had the biggest year in Hollywood.

Scarlett Johansson continues to be very tight-lipped about her private life with her new husband Ryan Reynolds, but she proved to be a hard worker this year. Box office hit Vicky Cristina Barcelona premiered in August, followed by her movie The Spirit in December. The star-studded HJNTIY opened in February, adding another chart-topping film to her already crammed resume.

I found these at one of the forums I visit and while they’re not the best scans, they will do until we can get HQ versions up in our gallery.  Overall I like the photoshoot and I don’t hate the dark hair.  I just wish Scarlett would have smiled in at least one of the photos lol.

I recently came across some new (to the site anyway) HQ photos of Scarlett at the photocall for the Italian Match Point press conference.  Scarlett looks positively radiant at this event and it’s probably one of my favorites.

Yesterday, there was a panel discussion with the producers of the Marvel movies where talked about Iron Man 2 and the tentative upcoming schedule for more in the Marvel line.

As we already know, they’re halfway done with shooting, and almost all of the dialogue is finished being shot, with the next six weeks dedicated to action. Earlier today I posted a brief update from Mickey Rourke, and while Feige talked highly of Rourke and Rockwell’s involvement as villains, he also dropped an interesting hint about Scarlett Johansson. He said her character has “two sides” – her entrance is as an assistant to Tony Stark, but she is later revealed to be a character named Black Widow. Is this a subtle bit of confirmation that her character stays true to the comics and eventually betrays Stark? I think so.

We already know that Iron Man 2 is up next, then Thor, then Captain America, then The Avengers in the summer of 2012. Feige said that they’re “ordered this way for a reason.” And confirmed that Samuel Jackson and Scarlett Johansson as well as Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are signed on for multiple movies or “multiple franchises.”

I’m working behind the scenes and slowly converting the site to WordPress. The news is already being handled by it but I prefer the whole site to utilize it and not use .php pages. This is going to take several days to complete I imagine. And while I am trying very hard to keep links up to date as I change things, I may miss one here and there. If you come across any broken links or photos, please don’t hesitate to email me and let me know.

I also wanted to take this chance to warn visitors that I plan on closing affiliation applications on June 14th. So if you’re interested in being an affiliate of Scarlett-Fan, read the rules and apply today.

Edit: If you’ve applied for affiliation recently and have not received an email, that probably means that you weren’t accepted.  Please be sure to read and follow the rules before applying
