Politico.com has published an excellent new interview with Scarlett. In it she discusses politics and her support of Obama. Read the full article here.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

Of course, there’s always the possibility of a backlash. “Even I’m wary of celebrity endorsements,” Johansson told Politico on Friday. “I don’t want to seem like I’m holier than thou. We all have the same right to vote and, especially in this technical age where we all can broadcast our opinions, we all have the opportunity to entice others to vote.” But, she adds, “if the spotlight is on me, I might as well try to direct it on things and causes that I believe in.”

Johansson is somewhat shocked that he keeps up their back-and-forth correspondence. “You’d imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly ‘on’ — how can he return these personal e-mails?” she asks. “But he does, and in his off-time I know he also calls people who have donated the minimum to thank them. Nobody sees it, nobody talks about it, but it’s incredible.” She adds, “I feel like I’m supporting someone, and having a personal dialogue with them, and it’s amazing.”

He has followed her career as well, telling her that his favorite performance was her turn in “Lost in Translation.” He’s a “huge movie lover” and “knows who every actor is,” she says.

As for her own involvement with his campaign, she’s pragmatic. “I approach my campaigning for Obama the same way I do my work for other social or environmental causes: I’m hoping to raise awareness,” she explains. “I’m not telling people who to vote for, and I don’t expect that if I did it would swing votes. At least, I hope not. What I want to do is raise awareness of Obama and his policies, and share my own story of how I became involved in his campaign. Perhaps, if they’re a fan, my story might entice them to learn or spark their interest some other way. If I can answer questions or direct people to a website where they can get more information, that’s how I can help.”

Production has come to a standstill on Scarlett Johansson’s latest flick, Mary Queen of Scots, because of an impending actors’ strike. The movie was set to shoot in Ireland in the next few weeks, but the production company wants to hold off.

A spokesperson for Element Pictures says, “With strike action involving the Screen Actors Guild looming we are waiting to see what happens. We are hoping that things get resolved in the next few weeks.”

I finally got around to adding the He’s Just Not That Into You HD trailer caps in the gallery. While the film does not look like one that I’ll personally love and adore – I am simply not a romantic comedy kind of girl – Scarlett sure looks adorable in this role.

My internet connection is still not stable but I’ll do my very best to keep you updated on the latest.

• Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Boleyn Girl will be shown at the Espoo Cine 2008 film festival in Finland in August.

• Scarlett is featured in the June/July 2008 issue of Interview. There are no actual photos of her but a piece of artwork and a new interview.

Just a quick post to let you know that the trailer for He’s Just Not That Into You will premiere tonight on ET. It will also be available online later on this week.

As earlier mentioned, I am in the process of moving to another country for the summer. I am flying tomorrow but it should not take later than early next week for me to be hooked back online. Meanwhile, the forum will provide you with all the latest on Scarlett, as per usual.

I have a lot of goodies to bring you again today. First of all, Scarlett is in two new commercials for Japan’s Mt. Rainier. It appears that the other commercial is the one we see her shoot in the Falling Down music video (lookie). She sure looks pretty but I find it so hilarious that she’s doing these commercials. Lost in Translation, much? :biggrin: Anyway, I’ve added the two new commercials in the video archive and made caps of them. Massive thanks to Sayuri for these!

I have also added stills of the Pepsi Smash On Location and MySpace Artist on Artist sessions (caps of both coming asap) and some preview scans of Scarlett’s new Nylon cover. Credit goes out to the original scanner for these. I will replace these with original HQ scans once the issue is available to my regular scanning helpers.

I have scanned Scarlett’s brand new NME spread and you can now find the pics in the gallery. I personally adore this shoot. It is fun and quirky but still natural… And I personally prefer the fresh and natural looking Scarlett! Sorry about the scan quality but it is an over sized mag and printed on newspaper. I did the best I could.
